Earbeats — Privacy Policy

Hello Good Day LLC

Effective Date: August 21, 2026

Hello Good Day ("we," "us," or "our") publishes the Earbeats iOS application ("Earbeats" or "the App"). This Privacy Policy describes what information Earbeats handles and how.

The short version: Earbeats keeps your personal data on-device. Everything you create stays on your iPhone or in your private iCloud account (aside from the anonymous analytics described below). We do not ship third-party SDKs. We do not operate a server that sees your heart rate.

1. What Earbeats Handles

Heart-Rate Data (Apple Health)

Earbeats reads heart-rate samples from your Apple AirPods Pro 3 through Apple's HealthKit framework. With your permission, it may also write samples back to Apple Health. This data lives on your iPhone, and — if you have iCloud Health turned on — in your private Apple Health database. Hello Good Day never sees this data.

Location (Optional)

If you use the "Locations" feature to whitelist or blacklist places, Earbeats monitors geofences through Apple's Core Location framework. Coordinates stay on your iPhone and are never transmitted to us.

Calendar (Optional)

If you enable "Calendar-aware tagging," Earbeats reads upcoming Calendar events through Apple's EventKit framework only when you start a session, solely to suggest a matching session tag. Event titles are never stored or transmitted.

AirPods Route Information

Earbeats detects which AirPods are connected by reading the audio-route name from Apple's AVAudioSession framework (for example, "Christian's AirPods Pro"). This information is used only to decide whether to auto-start tracking. It stays on your iPhone.

Focus and Call Status

If "Smart Silence" is enabled, Earbeats checks your Focus status (with your permission) through Apple's Intents framework, and listens for active phone calls through CallKit, so it can pause audio cues. No status is recorded or transmitted.

iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you are signed in to iCloud, your Earbeats sessions, zones, tags, and audio profiles sync to your private iCloud account through Apple's CloudKit. The sync is end-to-end encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. Hello Good Day does not have access to your iCloud database.

Purchase

When you purchase Earbeats Pro, Apple processes the transaction. Earbeats receives a signed receipt from Apple confirming the purchase. The receipt contains a transaction identifier and the product purchased. It does not contain your name, email address, payment method, or billing address.

2. What We Don't Collect

  • We do not run third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs (our only analytics is the anonymous first-party PulseKit reporting described above).
  • We do not collect health data, journal content, or anything you create for analytics.
  • We do not embed third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
  • We do not sell your data — there is no data to sell.
  • We do not share your data with anyone except as required by Apple to operate the App Store, HealthKit, and CloudKit.

3. Third Parties

Earbeats relies on Apple frameworks: HealthKit, ActivityKit, WidgetKit, StoreKit, CloudKit, Core Location, EventKit, CallKit, and Intents. Your use of these is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy at apple.com/legal/privacy. Aside from our own first-party PulseKit analytics component (described above), Earbeats does not embed any non-Apple SDK.

4. Children

Earbeats is not directed to children under thirteen (13) years of age. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone under 13. The App Store age rating for Earbeats is 4+.

5. Security

Because Earbeats does not transmit your data to our servers, the security of your information depends primarily on the security of your iPhone, your iCloud account, and Apple's services. We recommend you use a strong device passcode and enable two-factor authentication for your Apple ID.

In the unlikely event of a security breach affecting Florida residents, Hello Good Day will provide notice consistent with the Florida Information Protection Act of 2014 (§ 501.171, Florida Statutes).

6. Your Rights Under Florida Law

Earbeats is published by an independent developer that does not meet the applicability thresholds of the Florida Digital Bill of Rights. Regardless of any statutory threshold, you have the following practical rights:

  • Right to access. You can view every heart-rate reading Earbeats has logged from inside the App — the History and Insights tabs surface all of it.
  • Right to portability. You can export your data as CSV or JSON at any time from Settings → Your data.
  • Right to delete. You can delete the App at any time. Deleting removes all on-device Earbeats data. If iCloud sync was on, you can also delete the iCloud copy from iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage → Earbeats.
  • Right to opt out of sharing. There is nothing to opt out of — we do not share your data.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective Date" above will reflect the date of the latest version. Material changes will be communicated through an in-app notice. Your continued use of Earbeats after a change constitutes acceptance.

8. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Florida.

Anonymous analytics & purchase reporting

The app reports a few anonymous things to our own dashboard (called Proceeds, hosted for us by Supabase) through our first-party analytics component, PulseKit. Each is tied only to a random install identifier created on your device — it is not your Apple ID, IDFA, or IDFV, is not linked to your name or identity, and is not used to track you across other apps or companies. None of it includes the content you create in the app.

  • A once-a-day "app opened" ping — a count that the app was opened, with the app version and OS version, so we can gauge how many people use the app.
  • A purchase report — if you buy or restore a purchase, the Apple-signed transaction details (product identifier, transaction identifier, and date) are relayed so the sale is recorded. This contains no payment card details and no identity.
  • A daily subscription-status snapshot — if the app offers a subscription, once a day PulseKit reports whether a subscription is currently active and which plan, so we can count active subscribers in aggregate. If the app has no subscription, nothing is sent here.

This reporting is built into the app; it does not read or transmit the content you create. In App Store terms it maps to Product Interaction, Purchase History, and a Device ID (the random install identifier), all declared as not linked to your identity and not used for tracking.
