Folklore
Bring your GEDCOM family tree to your iPhone
Folklore imports standard GEDCOM files, including photos, so research you have already done comes with you to your iPhone. With Folklore Pro you can export to GEDCOM again, so your work stays portable.
Once your tree is in, its research tools help you check it. You can mark how sure you are of each fact and see how many sources back it up.
How Folklore does it
- Import your GEDCOM file into Folklore.
- Run Family checkup to find impossible dates, parents who would have been too young or too old, loops and likely duplicates.
- Merge two copies of the same person, keeping every relative.
- Mark each date, place and event as Confirmed, Likely or a Guess.
- Note searches that found nothing, so you never look in the same place twice.
Questions
Is a free tree enough for my file?
A free tree holds up to 40 people. Folklore Pro removes that limit and also unlocks GEDCOM export.
Can it tell me how two people are related?
Yes. The relationship calculator gives the exact relationship, such as second cousin once removed.
Can I print my tree?
Yes. Folklore Pro exports a printable Family Book PDF, with the option to hide details of people who are still living.
