Folklore
A private family tree only your family can see
Folklore keeps your family tree on your device and in your own private iCloud, and we can't see it. You share it through private iCloud invitations, with no accounts and no public links.
Partners, half-siblings and adoptive ties are recorded the way they really are. A free tree holds up to 40 people, and Folklore Pro removes that limit.
How Folklore does it
- Add parents, partners, children, siblings and other relatives to your tree.
- Fill in names, dates, stories, photos, life events and places.
- Invite family through private iCloud sharing, a Folklore Pro feature, so they can add relatives and details.
- Invite someone view-only if you prefer, and approve or decline the suggestions they send.
- Review removals, which always come back to you for approval.
Questions
Does Folklore show ads or track me?
No. There is no account, no login, no ads and no tracking.
Can I hide details of living relatives?
Yes. When you export to GEDCOM or a Family Book PDF, you can hide the details of people who are still living.
Can I restore old family photos privately?
Yes. Folklore Pro restores faded photos on your iPhone, and nothing is ever uploaded.
