Rows & Stitches — Privacy Policy

Hello Good Day LLC

Last updated: November 1, 2026

Rows & Stitches is a crochet and knitting row counter published by Hello Good Day LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), based in Florida, United States.

Summary

Rows & Stitches does not require an account. We do not sell your data. Your projects, patterns, counters, and notes stay on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your private iCloud storage tied to your Apple ID.

Information we collect

Data you create in the app

When you use Rows & Stitches, the app stores information you provide locally on your device, including:

  • Project names, notes, and cover photos you choose
  • Row counters, timer sessions, and row reminders
  • Patterns you import (PDFs, scanned documents, web archives, URLs), paste or type in, link from YouTube, or select from bundled patterns
  • PDF annotations and pattern display preferences

If you are signed into iCloud on your device, this data may sync across your Apple devices using Apple's CloudKit private database. We do not operate separate servers that store your project data.

Purchases

If you buy Rows & Stitches Lifetime, Apple processes payment through the App Store. We receive only purchase entitlement information from Apple (for example, whether the lifetime unlock is active). We do not receive your payment card details.

Photos and camera

If you add a project cover photo, Rows & Stitches accesses your photo library only when you pick an image. If you scan a printed pattern, the app uses the device camera through Apple's document scanner. Images are stored as part of your project on your device (and in iCloud if sync is enabled).

Notifications

If you start a countdown timer, Rows & Stitches may schedule a local notification when the timer ends. Row reminders appear inside the app and do not require push notifications. You can control notification permission in iOS Settings.

Apple Watch and widgets

If you use the Apple Watch app, Lock Screen widgets, or Live Activities, counter state is shared between the iPhone app and extensions using an App Group on your device. This data does not leave your device except through iCloud sync as described above.

YouTube videos

If you add a YouTube link to a project, Rows & Stitches uses YouTube API Services:

  • Video player. The video plays inside the app in YouTube's own embedded player (privacy-enhanced mode). When the player loads, and more when a video plays, YouTube (Google) collects some information from your device, such as playback activity and device and browser information, and may store or read cookies or similar data in the player. YouTube says privacy-enhanced mode keeps these views from personalizing ads or your YouTube recommendations.
  • Video description. To show rows and chapters from a video's description, the app sends the video's ID to the YouTube Data API and gets back the title and description. Nothing that identifies you is sent with it. The result is cached on your device.

Google's handling of this data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. Using these features means you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. If you don't add YouTube links, the app doesn't contact YouTube.

Feedback you send

If you send feedback from Settings, we receive your message and the category you pick, plus the app version and build, device model, iOS version, and language/region setting, so we can understand and fix the issue. It's stored in our feedback database (hosted for us by Supabase). We don't ask for your name or email; only include contact details in the message if you want a reply. We use feedback only to support you and improve the app.

Patterns from websites

If you import a pattern from a website, the app opens that website directly, as a browser would. That website's own privacy policy applies to what it collects.

Information we do not collect

Rows & Stitches does not:

  • Require sign-in or ask for your email address
  • Use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs (the YouTube player above is the only third-party content in the app, and only when you add a YouTube link)
  • Track you across other companies' apps or websites
  • Upload your patterns to our servers for processing (pattern parsing runs on your device)

How we use information

We use data only to operate Rows & Stitches: display your projects, sync via iCloud when available, share counter state with widgets and Apple Watch, play YouTube videos you add, honor App Store purchases, count how many people use the app, and answer feedback you send.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Data may be processed by Apple when you use iCloud, the App Store, or device services (photos, camera, notifications) under Apple's privacy policy; by Google when you play or look up a YouTube video, under the Google Privacy Policy; and by Supabase, which hosts our feedback and analytics databases on our behalf.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete individual projects inside the app. Deleting a project removes its counters, patterns, and related data from your device. If iCloud sync is enabled, deletions propagate through your iCloud account.

Uninstalling the app removes local data from that device. iCloud copies may remain until you delete them from a device still using the app or manage iCloud storage in Settings.

Children

Rows & Stitches is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a dedicated account system because the app has no accounts.

Security

We rely on Apple's on-device storage and CloudKit security. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

International users

Hello Good Day LLC is based in the United States. If you use the app outside the U.S., your information may be processed in the U.S. and wherever Apple, Google (for YouTube features), and Supabase process data.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. Because we do not maintain a separate account database, the primary way to manage your data is within the app and your Apple ID / iCloud settings. Contact us at hellogoodday.com/contact for privacy questions. To ask us to delete feedback you sent, contact us with roughly when you sent it and what it said.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy at the same URL and update the "Last updated" date.

Anonymous analytics & purchase reporting

The app reports a few anonymous things to our own dashboard (called Proceeds, hosted for us by Supabase) through our first-party analytics component, PulseKit. Each is tied only to a random install identifier created on your device — it is not your Apple ID, IDFA, or IDFV, is not linked to your name or identity, and is not used to track you across other apps or companies. None of it includes the content you create in the app.

  • A once-a-day "app opened" ping — a count that the app was opened, with the app version and OS version, so we can gauge how many people use the app.
  • A purchase report — if you buy or restore a purchase, the Apple-signed transaction details (product identifier, transaction identifier, and date) are relayed so the sale is recorded. This contains no payment card details and no identity.
  • A daily subscription-status snapshot — if the app offers a subscription, once a day PulseKit reports whether a subscription is currently active and which plan, so we can count active subscribers in aggregate. If the app has no subscription, nothing is sent here.

This reporting is built into the app; it does not read or transmit the content you create. In App Store terms it maps to Product Interaction, Purchase History, and a Device ID (the random install identifier), all declared as not linked to your identity and not used for tracking.
