TL;DR

tekahchip is a running coach for your iPhone. We do not collect anything about you. Your runs, your heart rate, and your preferences stay on your device or in services Apple manages (Apple Health and Game Center). We have no servers, no analytics, no trackers, and no ads. We never see your data.

1. Who We Are

tekahchip is made by Hello Good Day ("we," "us," or "our"), based in the State of Florida. You can reach us at support@hellogoodday.com. On the App Store, the developer name is Hello Good Day.

This policy applies to the tekahchip iOS app.

2. What Data tekahchip Touches

To do its job, the app reads and writes a few categories of data. Everything below stays on your device, in your iCloud-synced Apple Health database (which Apple manages, not us), or in Game Center (managed by Apple).

  • GPS location — used during a run to measure distance, pace, and route. Stored locally in the app's Documents/Runs/ folder as JSON, and saved to Apple Health as an HKWorkoutRoute attached to your workout. The app does not access location when you are not running.
  • Heart rate — read from your Apple Watch via HealthKit and saved back to Apple Health with the workout. Used in the moment to trigger heart-rate-zone audio cues.
  • Distance, pace, time, and calorie estimates — computed locally during a run and saved with the workout.
  • Body weight — read from Apple Health (only if you've granted permission) and used to estimate calorie burn. We do not store your weight anywhere ourselves.
  • Game Center identity — when you enable Game Center, Apple provides the app a local-player object so it can submit scores and achievements. tekahchip never sees your Apple ID; Apple manages your Game Center account.
  • Preferences — your settings (units, cue density, etc.) live in UserDefaults on your device.

3. What We Collect

Nothing. tekahchip has no backend. There are no servers that receive data from your app. We do not have an account system, you do not log in, and we have no way to identify you. The data above lives on your device or in Apple-managed services — we never see it.

4. Apple Frameworks We Use

tekahchip relies on Apple's frameworks to do its work. Each is governed by Apple's own privacy practices.

  • HealthKit — for reading heart rate and body weight, and saving workouts and routes. HealthKit data is encrypted on-device and only synced via iCloud if you have that turned on. See Apple's Health & Privacy.
  • Core Location — for GPS during a run. tekahchip requests "While Using" location access, plus background location while a run is active.
  • Game Center / GameKit — for leaderboards and achievements. Apple manages your Game Center identity and shares only what GameKit exposes to the app.
  • ActivityKit — for the Live Activity and Dynamic Island that show your run in progress.
  • WidgetKit — for home-screen widgets, which read only from your local run data.

5. Third Parties

There are none. tekahchip does not use any third-party analytics SDKs (no Firebase, no Sentry, no Amplitude, no Mixpanel), no advertising SDKs, no crash reporters that transmit data off the device, and no remote configuration services. We do not share your data because we never receive it.

6. Children's Privacy

tekahchip is intended for adult runners. We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13 — in practice, we do not collect data from anyone at all. If you believe a child has been using the app in a way that concerns you, please contact us.

7. Your Rights and How to Delete Your Data

Because everything stays on your device or in Apple-managed services, you control your data directly:

  • Runs stored in tekahchip — delete the app from your iPhone to remove the entire local store.
  • Runs in Apple Health — open the Health app, go to Browse > Workouts, and swipe to delete any workout. You can revoke tekahchip's HealthKit access entirely in Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > tekahchip.
  • Location access — revoke at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > tekahchip.
  • Game Center data — managed by Apple. Use reportaproblem.apple.com or your Game Center settings to delete scores and achievements.

8. Security

Data on your device is protected by iOS's app sandbox and, in the case of HealthKit, by Apple's on-device encryption. Because tekahchip does not transmit your data anywhere, there is no server of ours that could be breached.

9. International Users

tekahchip works worldwide. Your data never leaves your device through us, so most international data-protection regimes (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, etc.) do not place us in the role of "data controller" or "business" with respect to your personal information. If you have questions about your rights under your local law, please contact us.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and post the new version at the same URL. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
