    Questions

Why do J and Z look different?

J and Z involve motion. For J, make the I handshape and trace a J in the air with your little finger. For Z, trace a Z in the air with your index finger. The arrows in the drawings show the movement.

    Which hand should I use?

Use your dominant hand, held comfortably near your shoulder with your palm generally facing out.

Will this teach me to fingerspell fluently?

It shows the handshapes, and a still drawing can't show rhythm or how letters flow together. Learning from Deaf signers is the best way to get there.

What happens to numbers and symbols?

Only the letters A to Z are shown. Accents are removed, spaces separate words, and other characters are skipped.
