Cut and Sew
Project a PDF sewing pattern onto fabric at true size
Cut and Sew turns your Mac and a projector into a cutting table, beaming your PDF sewing pattern onto fabric at true 1:1. It then has you measure a test square with a tape, so you know one inch projected is one inch cut.
It is for garment sewists, quilters, dressmakers, tailors and cosplayers. Projecting, calibration and scale verification are free.
How Cut and Sew does it
- Drag a PDF onto the window. Large-format A0 files and multi-page tiled PDFs both work, and tiles are stitched automatically.
- Project a test square and measure it with a tape to verify the scale.
- Show only your size on layered patterns.
- Pan, rotate, mirror or nudge by an exact measurement to place each piece.
- Check off pieces as you cut. If the projector gets bumped, re-verify in under a minute.
Questions
What if lines are hard to see on my fabric?
Invert colors, pick custom projection colors, or boost line thickness so lines pop.
Can it add seam allowance?
Yes. Cut and Sew Pro projects a second cut line at an exact offset from the pattern edge.
What if I do not have a projector?
Cut and Sew Pro can print at home with a test square and assembly map, or export one true-scale file for a copy shop.
